333 God’s Hotline
Posted August 26th, 2010 by Randy CraigheadScripture
“Call unto me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you know not” – (Jeremiah 33:3).
Observation
Jeremiah was shut up in the prison court with no contact to the outside world, but God gave him a chance to make an outside call for help. I like to call this verse God’s Hotline, 333. Over the years I have reminded God of his promise to answer me in my time of need. With thousands of promises in the Bible, this is one of the most outstanding. There is no mincing of words here. You simply call, AND, God will answer. There’s no busy signal. He’s not looking at the caller ID wonder if He should pick up, or not. There will be no dropped calls and no missed calls. He’s always standing by to take your call. Wow! What a promise!
Application
The enemy of our soul specializes in trying to isolate us in the prison court of our soul, to separate us from the outside world. Telling us no one is there for us, you are all alone, no one will understand, just take it upon yourself and do it alone. He’s a master at it. If you find yourself in a difficult place like that today, God has a number for you to call. Take the promise of Jeremiah 333, literally, and make that call, today, don’t delay. He’s standing by with Jesus and the Holy Spirit to go to work on your behalf, today. What hope! What joy! The best is yet to be!
Prayer
Lord, help me each day to take your promises at face value, literally, for me, my family, and my loved ones. Help me to never forget how much You love me and that You will never forsake me or leave me alone. You are my rock and my salvation. It’s You in whom I trust. Amen!
