God is with us!

Scripture

“When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the LORD your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. Deuteronomy 20:1

Observation

The first verse of this chapter provides confidence to the children of Israel and gives specific instruction on how to conduct themselves when they go out to war. These instructions were no ordinary battle plans, but rather God inspired plans. Furthermore, the Lord guaranteed His people that they would face military forces far more formidable than their own. Yet God assured them they had nothing to fear. As long as they remembered that He would remain with them always, as the day they left Egypt.

Application

I realize that even as believer in Christ, I am not exempt from the battles of the enemy – satan. However, I am confident to know that my victory is not dependent upon my own strength or resources compared to the strength or resources of the enemy. I take courage in the fact that my victory is dependent upon God who gives me the power to overcome! God gave me the same promise that gave Moses such courage, “for the LORD your God is with you”. According to Revelation 12:11, we have overcome him by the blood of the Lamb!
God is with us and fights for us!

Prayer

Father thank you for providing me with the assurance of victory and confidence to overcome any battle that may come my way! May I always realize where my strength comes from and may my confidence to overcome these battles rest in You! Thank you for always being with me – I love you, Amen.
