“You shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots and are strong.” Joshua 17:18

Observation

Joshua is speaking to a portion of the nation of Israel as they are going in to possess the land that God had promised them. Joshua’s is able to give words of courage to the Israelites because of his faith in God. Despite the fact that Israel’s enemies had better military equipment and were stronger warriors than the Israelites, Joshua knew they would win because God had promised them the victory.

Application

Just like Joshua, there may be daunting obstacles to overcome in my life, but if I keep my trust in God then all things are possible. If I walk in faith and obedience then I’ll have God-style victory in my life. It’s not my circumstances that define my life, it’s my God who defines my life.

Prayer

Father, help me to live everyday knowing that you are whom I should put my trust in. Despite my circumstances around me I know that I can live a victorious life because of who I am in you. Thank you for being my strength in my weakest moments, and thank you for the daily victories that you give me.
