“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” 3 John 4

Observation

The writer of 3 John is telling us that the greatest joy that he has is when he sees his spiritual children are walking in the truth of God. Christ followers should not find their greatest joy out of material possessions or personal promotion, but they should gain true joy when they see others walking in truth.

Application

My goal in life should be to leave a legacy. Anything that I strive to achieve should have a goal that leads others into a lasting relationship with Jesus Christ.

Prayer

Father, help me to live a life to leave a legacy. I want to live a life full of joy not because of what I have, but who I am leaving behind. Thank you for your grace and wisdom to be able to walk in your joy as you give me the opportunity to invest in people.
