Thank You For Me

Psalm 139:14 (NKJV)
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.
Observation
There are many places in the Psalms where David thanks God for His lovingkindess, His mercy, His goodness, His protection, etc. In this verse, however, David thanks God for himself.
Application
God wants us to be grateful for everything, including ourselves. We should be happy, content, and grateful for who He has made us to be. David wasn’t arrogant like the Pharisee who said, “Thank You God that I am not like other sinners.”. David wasn’t comparing himself, he was thankful. When we look at other people we compare ourselves & feel either prideful or inadequate. But when we, like David, look at our Maker we begin to have a healthy, thankful view of ourselves.
Prayer
Thank You Father that I, like King Davd, am fearfully and wonderfully made. Help me to see how wonderful Your works are and how special and valuable I am in Your eyes. Help me never to compare & compete with others, but to be comfortable & thankful with who I am. I love You. Amen.
